CFFC 60 Boasts a Star Studded Fight Card

Steven Cavagnino

Self described as North America’s best ‘regional’ promotion, the Cage Fury Fighting Championships has been on a constant upward trajectory since its inception in 2006. The promotion is based out of New Jersey and hold the majority of its events in Atlantic city, but has also ventured out  to Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

The talent the CFFC sees come through their cage has been exponentially growing; sometimes seeing fighters move on to the UFC while at other times providing a home to former UFC competitors. The CFFC has provided starting points in the career of several UFC fighters including Jimmie Rivera, Paul Felder, Nick Catone, Dan and Jim Miller and Katlyn Chookagian. They also hosted the late Kimbo Slice’s introduction to MMA when he fought Ray Mercer at CFFC 5 in Atlantic City.

Having just announced the lineup for CFFC 60 in Atlantic City, the show promises to deliver as the card is packed with both regional and nationally recognized talent. The card features former TUF competitors Haydar Hassan and Dan Spohn taking on UFC vets Jonavin Webb and Matt Hamill respectively. Another former UFC fighter in Nick Pace will defend his CFFC Bantamweight title and TUF 19 winner Eddie ‘Truck’ Gordon will return to the cage for the first time since his UFC run at CFFC 60. As far as popular regional talent goes, the Northeast’s top flyweight, Sean Santella, will look to reclaim his title belt and become a 2x CFFC champion while middleweight hitter Chris Lozano will look to make a run at the 185 pound CFFC belt starting with a victory over the aforementioned Eddie Gordon.

CFFC 60 is set to take place in the old fight town of Atlantic City at the 2,400 seat Borgata Events Center.  Atlantic City has been a long time venue of combat sports and has held numerous high profile championship boxing matches and UFC Fight Night events, making it the perfect home for a regional promotion like the CFFC. So far CFFC 60 is proving to be a top-notch event with the talent, production, venue and fighters to put on a quality show and could very well be a flagship event for the organization. As the rest of the fight card fills out, the event can only improve upon its already impressive display.
