EFC 38: The Irish Look to Invade South Africa

Published

on

Team Ryano MMA have another fighter on the EFC 38 card after SBG’s Peter Queally pulled out of his bout vs Martin Van Staden (14-7). Welterweight prospect Ayo Daly (1-0) will replace fellow Irishman Queally who has picked up a late injury. With just over a week till the event, Daly has quite the task ahead of him to prepare as well as make weight for this fight. Daly has only recently made his debut in professional MMA picking up the win against Matas Stebuliauskas at King of Kings in Lithuania earlier this month.

Daly claims to know Van Staden’s style after watching teammate Henry Fadipe submit The South African in 2013, putting him out of action for just under a year. Daly has a big challenge ahead of him in Van Staden who has lots of professional experience although he should not be ruled out as he is a major threat who will look to pull off a massive win in Durban. However with big boots to fill, he won’t lack support in the slightest. As proven in the past, the Irish get behind every fighter who steps into the cage. This is surely going to be an unpredictable fight, but a big one. Watch out Durban, Daly is coming to dominate.

Fellow teammate, also the emerald isle’s new gem, Stephanie Quaile makes her debut in the hexagon against WMMA Amateur Fighter of the Year 2014, Amanda Lino. Quaile who holds an amateur record of 2-1 and fights out of Team Ryano MMA in Dublin, has a tough task ahead of her against the South African who went undefeated in her amateur career. It’s both women’s first fight inside the EFC hexagon and it is only the second Women’s MMA bout in the promotion. Quaile will look to kick-start her pro career with a bang, in addition to hopefully beginning a night of success for the Irish. This is sure to be one explosive fight as both women hunt for glory in their first pro fight.

The Irish are everywhere lately, making the headlines wherever they go. This time they look to invade South Africa. Watch them take over EFC on the 4th of April.
