Neil Seery Added to UFC Dublin

Published

on

On the morning that UFC Dublin tickets go on sale to those eligible for the pre-sales, one of the most popular Irish fighters on the roster has been added to the card. Dubliner Neil Seery, who has a reputation for putting on highly entertaining fights, will face another all-action fighter in Jon Delos Reyes.

Seery has posted a 2 – 2 record in his UFC career to date, but fans will agree that every one of his fights has delivered in terms of pure entertainment. Indeed, it is somewhat of a surprise among many fans that none of those fights earned fight of the night honours. His most recent performance was at UFC 189 where he lost a decision to Louis Smolka. With victories over Phil Harris and Chris Beal to his name, Seery, who has campaigned for a spot on this card for months, has finally got his wish and will be looking to get another UFC win in front of his home crowd.

For Jon Delos Reyes, the fight may well be a do-or-die situation. With a 1 – 2 record thus far in his UFC tenure, his only win coming against Roldan Sangcha-an, a third loss would likely end his current run in the promotion. Of his 12 career fights, only 1 of those has made it to the final bell, and that was back in 2008, showing that Delos Reyes has a history of putting on exciting fights. Being matched with Neil Seery is perfect for both fighters and fans alike.

UFC Dublin takes place on the 24th of October and is headlined by Irishman Joseph Duffy as he faces Dustin Poirier. The co-main event has heavyweight title shot ramifications as Stipe Miocic and Ben Rothwell collide. With the addition of Seery, 6 Irish fighters are now on the card fighting in front of their countrymen. Pre-sale tickets went on sale today, with the tickets going on general release this Friday and UFC Dublin is sure to be the hottest ticket in town.

Bellator 185- How to Watch, Times and Fight Card

Published

on

Bellator is once again heading to Mohegan Sun in Uncasville Connecticut, and this time they are bringing with them one of the most anticipated former UFC fighter turned Bellator stars’ debut. Gegard Mousasi will be making his first appearance in the Bellator cage against a former Bellator champion in Alexander Shlemenko. Although this event has lost some of its star power over the last several weeks, it is still stacked and you can bet that the main event will bring some fireworks.

Earlier in the month, it was announced that King Mo had suffered an injury that had forced him out of his co-main event fight with former middleweight champion Liam McGeary. Bellator worked quickly to secure a replacement opponent for McGeary in Bubba McDaniels. Unfortunately for McDaniels and the fans alike, McGeary had later suffered an injury of his own and the fight was removed from the card.

This left a spot open in the co-main event slot, which would be filled by a welterweight matchup between Brennan Ward and David Rickels. Just four days out from the fight, Bellator announced that Ward had also become injured and the fight has been removed from the card as well. The main card has been shuffled around and the welterweight bout between Neiman Gracie and Zak Bucia will now serve as the co-main event.
