UFC Houston Post-Fight Press Conference Highlights – Korean Zombie “I think this fight has put me back in the game.”

After an incredible night of fights in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center, bonuses have been divvied, and fighters reflected on their performances.

  • POTN honors were awarded to Chan Sung Jung, Jessica Andrade, Marcel Fortuna, and Angela Hill. All recipients took home $50K.

Conference Highlights:

  • Attendance: 8,119
  • Gate: $600,000
  • James Vick wants to get on the main card if granted his wish of competing on May PPV card.
  • Felice Herrig said this fight was satisfying since she beat the woman who was ‘meant to win’.
  • Herrig also stated she was given the fight with Michelle Waterson in Sacramento but the bout was taken from her.
  • Chan Sung Jung “The Korean Zombie,” said he made minor changes to the way he fights.
  • Korean Zombie said he feels ‘conceited’ talking about politics but feels it’s his way of “participating in the candlelight vigils that have been going on in Korea.”

James Vick visualizing pre-fight he’d win via d’arce choke:

“I’m like a little kid right now, I’m so happy. This is my state, I love to fight here. I wish I could fight in Texas more often. The outcome is what I envisioned. I’m a big believer in the law of attraction and I study this stuff religiously. I just knew it was going to happen.”

Felice Herrig redeeming herself and recalling her last fight:

“I think I was overlooked, for sure. I kind of thrive over being the underdog. But in my mind, I knew I wasn’t the underdog. And anyone who’s around me knew I wasn’t the underdog. I think that I had one bad performance, which clearly I’ve come back from. The Paige VanZant fight… you know I didn’t have anything else left to give (in that fight) cause I wore my body out so much. That’s why I took 15 months because I worked with a performance doctor and we did extensive lab.”

Korean Zombie’s response to being asked if he thought he would never make it back to the UFC:

“Yes, I’m human too and so there were times when I thought “Can I keep up with the game?” and “Can I keep developing my techniques?” Sure, that’s what I thought and now I feel like I’m about to cry.”

-on thinking of a title bout soon:

“My goal is always to be the champion and I think this fight has put me back in the game.”
